Reschedule of the Easter Egg Handicap 2008.

Our ever popular Easter egg handicap 5km race has been reschedule for Thursday 1st of May due to the earliest Easter for 200 years. Registration from 6:00pm at Rhayader Leisure Centre. The course is unchanged and runners should let Terry know of their intention to run on the next available club night so that unrealistic times can be allocated. Instead of the usual Easter Egg there will be a goody bag for all finishers, though with Terry organising this as well, the word "goody" is up for debate. Thanks in advance Terry and hope to see you all there.

Staff.

Budapest Marathon ( & associated races) on 5 October 2008.

After looking at various alternatives we have decided the 2008 club trip will be to the Budapest Marathon ( & associated races) on 5 October 2008.
There will be a meeting next Thursday 10 January in the Lamb & Flag after the club run to discuss preference for hotels/packages etc.
We have decided on Budapest for a number of reasons:
* It is a beautiful city in Hungary easily accessible by low cost air travel - Ryanair fly there from Liverpool and Bristol.
* There is loads to do - Spa's, guided walks, wine tasting, theatres & museums, boat trips on the danube etc
* Hotel accommodation and cost of living is very reasonable there (cheap beer Phil!)
* There are a number of different races, all on Sunday morning as follows:

10.00am - Marathon - 50 Euros
10.00am - Marathon relay - 3 runners - 12.6k/21.6k/8k - 80 Euros per team
10.00am - Marathon relay - 5 runners - 12.6k/7.4k/8.2k/6k/8k - 100 Euros per team
10.30'ish - 30k - Join in the main marathon race at 12k - 30 Euros
10.15am - 7.5k - 12 Euros
9.20am or 9.40am - 4k fun run for beginners & kids - 5 Euros

* Courses are flat apart from inclines to bridges
* Entry fees include T-shirt, gift, timing chip, pasta party ticket, certificate & photo

For further information please look at www.budapestmarathon.com. It may be useful before next weeks meeting to print off the various packages and types of hotel available. On the above web site click on "Accommodation and program" then click on "Budapest marathon travel offer".

We had a fantastic time in Amsterdam and I'm sure this will be even better.

Any questions please contact Chris

Happy New Year to you all.

If anybody would like to give feedback to Jan could you please do so by early next week so that the article can also be included in the next Rhayader newsletter.

10/7/07 Chris
Hi all,Just a quick reminder that the club runs this Thursday and next Thursday will be at 6.30pm from Llandrindod Wells Lake. If Rhayader based runners could meet at the leisure centre at 6pm as there could be some runners requiring lifts. We have advertised these 2 nights as beginner taster sessions and we're not sure how many will turn up, but there should be enough of us should there be a number of different ability groups.

Also, the next cross country runs will be Wednesday 18 July at Kinnersley, Wednesday 1 August at Shobden and Wednesday 22 August at Westhope all starting at 7.30. Details are on the board but any queries please contact either myself or Terry. It would be good to put a team out in each race.

Finally, Stafford is doing some really good work in setting up a club website - watch this space!! Thanks Staff.

Cheers for now.

Chris.
